Gorgeous, gorgeous album.

This album is perfect. I wanna make love to it yet I want to cry my heart out dance my inner thighs but then stand still and stare at the wall. I love this willow

It's sad this is probably gonna be slept on cause it really is a fantastic album. Willow is such a prodigy.

After listening to "symptoms of life" and "big feelings" I get very excited to the album but I'm kinda disappointed with it.

A lot of songs sounds like intros/interludes.

 

The St. Vincent collab is the best, it's awesome!

Great album

 

I feel like she gets dismissed or overlooked for being a nepo baby sometimes, but she was born to make music and this album proves it.

Properly listening to this record today. It gets better with every new play. To be honest, this is the only album I'm spinning whole day...

listening now and i hadn't noticed she was on it til i saw this, but the whole thing feels a bit st vincent coded i think?

 

i wasn't that big on the single and the whole fussy time signature thing but i've enjoyed this a lot more than i thought i would, there are definitely some bops under the proggy approach, tho i'm still quite a basic willow appreciator who wishes she'd do more songs like meet me at our spot

second run thru now and the fear is not real is such a bop, so soulful but loving the twitchy vibes as well

Interesting that she's no longer signed to Roc Nation. Looks like she's signed to the same indie distributor that Usher's signed to now. 

empathogen and all born screaming are sister albums. they both sound so good together 

this is a really good album. there are a lot of stand out tracks and it also works as a body of art. a+

 

this is unexpected, but every era willow does is unexpected.

 

she usually makes few good songs on each album, for me,

this album overall is boring to listen to, but i found some gems

 

favorites: false self, symptom of life, the fear is not real

worst: run! 

 

people say nobody wants to give her a chance because shes a nepo baby, but i think bigger problem is that she is moving like a nepo baby,

she is not even trying to cater to public or audience. her persona is unrefined.

 

every single era of hers is done to please her own self. her brand is not built, her albums are messy and "unorganized", like she didnt go to artist development

or she doesnt have a manager. her discography is filled with pretentious titles that any manager would tell her to leave out and would work on her relatability (I know it's hard, but there is a way to find the charm). her manager is not even music manager, hes producing red table and tv shows, what does he know. hes allowing willow to publish anything she wants and is evident.

 

its a shame because willow is smart, beautiful and capable. she is also talented and has a good voice and sense of rhythm. people around her gave up or doesnt see it in her. 

 

and ok. now we have discography that is so random and full of potential. 

 

 

i feel some of that. i think the only record she's done that i absolutely love and that works fully as an album is the hard rock one, <copingmechanism>. there's a lot more stuff where you can pull out the odd song and it's fantastic but at heart the albums are flawed and patchy (the anxiety and lately i feel everything esp). this one i think is above average but i need to give it more time yet.

 

ultimately she can afford to do as she pleases (i'm sure she can pull plenty of strings to get them released lol) and i'm not really of the opinion that it's important for her to have hits, there's room to come at music from a lot of different angles (tho meet me at our spot showed that she still has that in her). the problem for me is more that the lack of discipline does not always result in a very good record, tho i do think her consistency is improving

yeah, lack of discipline is also "moving like nepo baby" , if she acted like shes taking herself and her music seriously people would too.

also,  radical changes from time to time (now she's a rock star, now she's Bjork, and goes in circles) make Miley, in comparison, look like stable and gradual change, lol.

for me lately i feel everything was my favorite era for her, i felt like it suited her and she could have have her "angst" put into model where its appropriate and still fun.

this arsty fartsy era idk. she doesnt have such special voice that can carry unusual tone. her voice is basic and nice at best. she should have really worked her beauty up.

shes not using her talents (which again, shows her nepotism by being too comfortable)

 

 

loved the two singles i've heard so I can't wait to get in

truly the benefit of operating in a niche lane, looking fwd to seeing her modern classical release next year
