Waves is like her magnum opus, it's sad that she can't recreate such quality music. 

 

I lowkey thought Grip sounded like Keke Palmer  the Vitamin D songstress 

This is actually the perfect debut album for Normani (minus the waiting time and album rollout).

 

Zero skips, and All Yours should seriously be a single. I really think releasing 1:59 as the "comeback" single was a mistake (song was cute but literally she had any song from the first half of the album right there).

 

Adopting the "arts not the charts" mindset for this one, cos no matter the performance, she really served.

Wdym Janet is a pure POP star since she began, shes said so herself. Yes she's done some different genres, but her debut era's were very pop-centered and most her hits are pop songs.

Lmao I think you have confused her talent to perform and captivate an audience with being a popstar. The same thing is being done to Normani imho. 
 

Janet has done many genres but she is R&B at the core, she has literally been a huge innovator in contemporary R&B.

edit: maybe it's because she has crossed over into mainstream appeal and that's what y'all mean by popstar but her music has never been purely pop to me at all. It's always R&B influenced with whatever other genre it's in

Janet jackson has done different genres but she is more of a crossover R&b act while Michael solo wise was way more pop in my opinion. Janet dance moves and image is Popstar so I can see why people consider her pop. I can say the same for Bey as well. Anyways I'm excited because this album is getting good reviews on here
