How do I get back into Beyonce?

Featured Replies

I have not (consciously) listened to a Beyonce song or album since "4" back in 2011. Now I feel like I have missed a lot, so where do I start?

Not sure why you need advice? Just start where you left and go from there. It really ain't rocket science

Everyone is welcome to listen to Beyonce. What is it you liked about her old music and why did you stop listening?

I love a traditional album rollout, but she hasn't done one since 4. I know no one does them anymore today, but still.

Don't.

Watch the visual album for BEYONCÉ (2013)

That's understandable. Beyonce has gotten a lot more experimental over the years but if you want something that most people love:

Bops:

Bodyguard and Leviis Jeans - Cowboy Carter

Cuff It - Renaissance

Drunk in Love and XO - Self Titled

Ballads:

II most wanted - Cowboy Carter

All Night - Lemonade

Experimental songs to start:

Alien Superstar - Renaissance

Daughter - Cowboy Carter

The way Beyoncé is making people listen to her new music again now. The impact :clap3:

4 kinda set the groundwork for everything that followed it. I'd say go in chronological order, maybe listen to the singles from each album first and then dive into them properly.

Listen to the albums you haven't listened to in full. Don't press play on random songs and skim through, get the full experience.

Go in chronological order and just listen to each album from start to finish. BEYONCÉ, Lemonade, Renaissance and now Cowboy Carter are just on another level from her older albums so you're in for a treat.

The Gift (The Lion King) is worth a listen, but it's not essential.

+30m spotify monthly listeners since 2022 Renaissance release. She's at 77.1m now, before she was struggling to even reach 50m. Gen Z and Alpha are truly discovering her.

True but also I noticed that with this album and Renaissance, many people are rediscovering her music again. Mind you a few years prior Crazy In Love had a sorta revival

Can y'all imagine to actually relive her work from 2013 to now? Not just the phenomenal albums, but the live performances as well?

With the release of "Cowboy Carter" Beyoncé is sending out a very clear signal this era is over and she's become relatable to multiple demographic groups again. So I'd go directly from "4" to CC.

If you have listened to all the album's before 4, start with ST and work out from there.

If you hadn't maybe do the singles of her first albums first then listen to the all the albums in chronological order. You will think to yourself...

Good luck, if you can stomach her experimental and weird songs, you're in for a treat.

How is a traditional rollout important to your listening experience? Just curious I've never had this issue before and I cant see how it'd impact MY listening experience.

Does this mean you cant listen to old albums which rollouts you didnt experience too?

Listen to the Miley x Beyonce duet and them the whole album.

Listen to self titled from 2013 and renaissance from 2022. Also tyrant and buckiin from the new album
