just curious, but why would you recommend only listening to the singles from all albums other than renaissance? are those albums very experimental? 

Literally start with the next album (BEYONCÉ).

Firstly, why were you avoiding Beyonce music in the first place? I think the first step is to consult professional help, like talk therapy

Unlike the tasteless the post in here, do NOT skip The Gift or EIL. thematically they continue the path that self-titled and lemonade went and both, especially The Gift, have some stellar songs.

Just take your time and dont listen to the noise around Bey and the haters notorious urge to belittle or "drag" Bey.

 

Treat her albums like art galleries: Each song has a significant purpose, go from beginning to end, listen to the songs again because just like Art pieces, some take time to digest in order to really appreciate.

 

Her storytelling only got better.

Lemonade is a masterpiece in that it woves her own experience of infidelity into the concept of the 13 stages of grief and draws comparisons to the Black female experience in the US.

 

Everything is Love marks the celebration of overcoming the Trauma in her marriage while blending RnB and HipHop.

 

The Gift basically retells the Story of the Lion King through diving into the world of Afrobeats.

 

Act 1: Renaissance explores the road to self-expression and self-love through the reclamation of the dance genre, a genre that is nowadays predominantly associated with white people.

 

Act 2: Cowboy Country is a celebration of (Texan) and US American identity through the reclamation of the Country genre, which in itself serves as a political statement towards the racist Country community. Again, she is reclaiming a predominantly white genre.

 

 

So overall, what I want to express is that Bey is so very intentional and delibate. Dont make the mistake of rushing into her albums and just looking for obvious hit. Her songs have depth, her storytelling is sublime and its important to sit in the projects a little bit before moving on.

this is just my personal opinion as someone who is only a casual listener, but those other albums do not stand out to me from start to finish. Renaissance is the one that is just great song to song, the other albums have highs and lows (the singles usually being the highs). if you do end up loving singles then yes, by all means try the full albums. i find CC to be very bloated and boring, but i was never a massive country fan and i'm not American so not her target audience for this i guess. it's just way too long, she should've cut it to 12 tracks.
