I think she’ll continue to do droplets here and there. 
 

Otherwise there’s not much more for her to do or explore musically. She already reached her career peak and explored the styles that fit her best as an artist. I’m not expecting the 2nd album at this point and if she does actually release it I can see it being her final album. 

 

Her music run/career kinda reminds me of a modern J. Lo in some ways. Very trendy as a musician for a few years (1999-2003 & 2017-2021) because the style and image, edgy Bronx Latina persona, Hip-Hop collaborators, a big selling point for them was their rivalry with a veteran (Mariah & Nicki), etc. As an artist they were moreso flavor of the moment (esp with the ghost singer/writer accusations always thrown at them), there’s nothing wrong with that - they still had a good run. 

It’s time to finally drop the album either way

More brand sponsorships I think. Musically I don’t really think there’s any interest on her end to really continue. 

Finally release the album and flop with dignity

Underperforming compared to what though? Hot **** underperformed, but everything else since then has performed similarly. She’s clearly no longer in her imperial phase, but there are like 3 female rappers that consistently debut in the top 40 and she’s 1 of them.. 

 

She needs to just drop the album and keep it moving. She’s not a pop star, there was no justifiable explanation for waiting 5 years for a follow-up album.

I think she's still quite relevant in pop culture and as a celeb so she won't be disappearing anytime soon, but musically she has clearly peaked. She wasted so much momentum/hype after WAP/Up and I don't think she'll ever get it again. She should just keep doing these droplets and release the album to keep her remaining fans around at least.

 

Also she's still debuting Top 15 so she's not that over tbh. I can see her snatching a big hit with one of her attempts/collabs.

Meanwhile her latest release is projected to debut Top 10-15 despite y'all celebrating her supposed downfall the other day... oh, ATRL...
