With her voice and what is currently on radios she should have go with some power ballad/mid tempo alá "Bleeding Love" by Leona Lewis to differentiate herself a bit, not mediocre song like this

Anyways… I’m excited for this, but announcing it one month before the official release date?! Weird. 

A clearer look at one of the looks in the music video. I wonder if they’ll use that grainy filter in the MV? Would give the video a “nostalgic” kind of feel which I think would compliment the vibe of the song. 
 

Nearly four weeks of teasing seems a bit excessive though!? I really hope they’ve brought the release date forward. 

I would HATE for the video to be grainy, but have worried it will be.

I think it wouldn’t look good for the ENTIRE video to be grainy, but little snippets here and there where it cuts to a grainy filter to kind of indicate that maybe those scenes are the memories she’s singing about? And then it cuts back to reality without the filter? I can see the vision!

Sounds like a nice summertime countrified bop. I like it.

 

Also, Perrie’s vocals really sell the song. The way her voice soars throughout the chorus is so sublime.

I actually agree with this. Theses girls are so talented but the solo music just isn’t giving at all. This is giving album track

I think those of you who are disappointed probably had unrealistic expectations of how Perrie would deliver. 
 

We might not have predicted country but she was never going to go down the MPG route with choreo in videos and dance / pop anthems. I’d love her to do a few and the disco track people discussed sounds interesting but probably not what y’all wanna hear.

Personally, this is almost the exact kind of music I’d expect Perrie to make as a soloist ddd  It’s a safe bet for a lead single, sure, but as long as it’s not horrifically bad I don’t mind a generic bop now and again. 

I am, however, reassured by the descriptions of the other album tracks and believe that her other material will be slightly more experimental which I am here for. 
 

Where do we realistically see this peaking, chart wise?

I think this is the best sound for her. In general all the girls are super well rounded but each excel in different things, and Perrie was always the "weakest" dancer so it makes sense she's not bringing high choreo or dance bops with routines. 

 

Her voice is powerful and recognizable so coming with a pop banger with big vocals and explosive chorus is the way to go. It also feels summery, like a good time.

idk if i'm being too hopeful but it sounds so good, the reaction i've seen has been pretty positive apart from a few pressed gays here.

 

I don't particularly think this is 'safe' as idk any song like this out right now. I feel like Ed might push the song a little too, considering he has already shared the snippet on his IG story.
