lover is very of its time and the songs that smashed off of it are pop perfection

 

but... there's lower lows on lOVER, while eternal smash has several HIGH highs and not so many lows

Came to say exactly this.

Lover has many filler tracks and doesn't have the cohesiveness of ES. So ES for all.

ES is a great album. The other is an album

 

Def ES but Lover highs (CS, Afterglow) are higher but the lows are just too much and it’s less cohesive than ES

Lover has the higher highs but also the lower lows.  ES is much more consistent.  
 

I voted for Lover as the better album due to the higher highs (and the fact that I have erased the memory of some of the songs from my mind) but it’s a toss up there.  
 

ES easily has the best cover art and first two singles.  

Ariana definitely wins the artwork and singles part but I’m struggling to answer which one is the better album. 
 

eternal sunshine is such a cohesive body of work and there’s not a single skip, in fact, I’d actually argue that the album benefits from being played from start to finish as opposed to playing random songs out of order. Lover is by no means Taylor’s best body of work but it does contain some songs I think are genuinely great like Lover, Cruel Summer, Afterglow, Death By A Thousand Cuts, Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince, It’s Nice To Have A Friend and Daylight. 
 

Now the question becomes, are the highs on Lover high enough to be considered a better album than eternal sunshine which doesn’t have a single low? 
 

I think I’m gonna need more time with this question.
