When I heard he was performing it on SNL, doing the cliché talk show circuit, etc. I was like this all feels very old school and outdated. But I guess they think since his fanbase skews older, they'll just do the same thing over and over since it's worked in the past.

He’s doing that because he’s not just promoting a single but a tour. The audience that still watches SNL is also the audience that can spend $350 on a ticket to see him.
