Selena #1 on TTH, cover and arround 150M playlist reach immediately after release. Why interscope paying that much for that song? Is atrocious, around 5 years old leak and Bieber centered. She should have released something like Same Old Love.

The song is really cute. That lazy bridge adds nothing, tho.

Idk how I feel about this song.  It's...fine, nothing particularly bad about it but also nothing stands out either.  The chorus sounds dated and the verses sound like a poor recreation of a Midnights track - Lavender Haze to be specific.  The lyrics are a little cringey for me.  Selena doesn't have the voice to elevate a lackluster track so she needs all the help from the production and songwriting she can get which is missing here.  I really liked Selena's addition to Calm Down so I was hoping she would lean more into that direction which imo suits her more.

Well, that's up to the label, Interscope does not actually invest much on payola, they do first days good but if the song does not comply with their expectations they straight remove the song from everything. I mean Selfish Love was #1 on TTH and was out in like 5 days of the playlist.
