Flowers had the bigger commercial peak/initial run but I can’t help to think that Shallow will be more remembered. It also has more acclaim & prestige to its cred.

Shallow was shoved down people's throats. It's one of the most promoted song of the 10's while Flowers got zero promo and is already the biggest song of the year. It is much much bigger.

and Flowers wouldn't have gone #1 without the heavy autoplay it got from both YouTube and Spotify and playing on that marriage that ended literally 4 years ago but nothing for River, Jaded despit

Flowers was the bigger hit.

But I wouldn't say it's a comeback as the album tanked harder than Plastic hearts:giraffe:

Not when Flowers chart performance obliterates it, is the better structured song, and Shallow is not even near the best of the films soundtrack. Puhlease.

Flowers broke the record for fastest song to 100M and 1 billion streams

It's likely the #1 song of 2023 on the Hot 100 while "Shallow" was a measly #19 for 2019

Globally, Flowers also went #1 in France and Germany which Shallow missed

So Flowers

Flowers by far in terms of stream/chart success but Shallow will be more remembered and an instant classic already i fear

Shallow released in September of 2018 and still was #19 on 2019 year end chart.

Shallow is probably the biggest international song in France of the last 10 years at least. It's diamond there and if certificates like 5x diamond existed , Shallow would probably already been 5x diamond in France

It charted for 8 weeks in 2018 for Billboards chart and only 2 were in the top 10 and 3 were in the top 20. It probably would've been enough for top 10 year end maximum.

Flowers is way bigger

But Shallow did its job which was to sell the ASIB Soundtrack. It ended up being one of the biggest albums of 2018-2019 and reinvigorated Gaga’s career so…

Flowers especially it had not been attached to a movie, no performances or promo
