You might not know it, but this is an important question - where are our POP boys and why aren't the boys churning out FUN/SYNTHPOP masterpieces...I'll guess we'll have to settle for Tory Lanez and Chris Breezy until then

January 2022 I honestly liked Years & Years Nightcall more than Dawn FM but that's just personal preference 

The way Dawn FM didn't top Club Future Nostalgia tbh

January alone had FKA twigs with Caprisongs, Hikaru Utada with BAD MODE, and Amber Mark with Three Dimensions Deep, and that early part of the year also had Black Country New Road doing incredible work with Ants From Up There on the male-fronted side of things

 

this isn’t to say that Dawn FM is bad by any means, just that personally I found several others to be more engaging to my taste

That Ants From Up There album was coma-inducing and CAPRISONGS barely had any good song outside of papi bones. Not familiar with the rest.

Id recommend the album Communion or Palo Santo first lol

His last 2 albums were basically Johnny Jewel/IDIB tribute albums so I found them redundant, he didn’t even try to hide the influence. I appreciate that he brought a more left of center style into the public consciousness but it was nothing new, sorry. There were better acts doing synth-wave & electronic pop before him & have continued to be after. Stream Main Character by Glüme

We love good influence  The album is fantastic whether or not it was anything new, not everything has to be.

Feel free to list as many albums as you can think of though.
