Pyongyang has introduced new bright yellow double-decker commuter buses as part of ongoing efforts to “normalize” public transportation despite material shortages, according to state media.

The Pyongyang City General Passenger Service Enterprise (평양시 려객운수종합기업소) deployed 11 of the new buses this month to cover at least four existing routes within the North Korean capital.

They are each fitted with 78 plush yellow seats and feature a peculiar numberless analog clock prominently

:clap3: They look really nice tbh. Why not make the material shortages stretch? It makes sense to make stuff that many people could use rather than using it to make private taxis. Buses are more efficient anyway. :clap3:

the buses are cute but there's something eerie about the music and just the whole vibe idk

And who's going to travel with them actually? People can barely afford food there :chick3:

There's people that can afford bus rides and there's people that can't. There's people that can afford food and there's people that can't. Only so much can be done when DPRK is slapped with sanctions. And while they have strong ties with China, China could only support so much. They also have Cuba to help keep afloat.

DPRK is slapped with sanctions yet still prioritizes testing their missiles instead providing necessities to their people :penguin:

Testing missiles to deter unwelcoming guests is a common practice among nations with military.

The fact that these will probably just drive around empty all day while the common folk wont be able to use them. :deadbanana2:

The propaganda of it all lol

But good for the people who will use them.

Well good for the privileged Pyongyangites who can afford to travel in such luxury:ahh:
