Unlike Beyoncé, she has white privilege working in her favor and yet she has never won AOTY, much less a General Field category. Why is that?

"Born This Way" was done dirty for sure. For whatever reason, the industry decided they hated her for a little bit after that was released. 

God gave her the oscar instead. AOTY is just another grammy and no one is really reffered to as an AOTY winner like they are with an Oscar. Thanks for the thread

OT: Born This Way was a strong contender imo, she unfortunately had the bad luck of being nominated alongside 21. Nothing she's released since has measured up, and I say this as someone who used to stan.

She's better than most AOTY winning artists anyway. She's on her path to an EGOT anyway, who gives a **** about AOTY?

What people on this site don't seem to understand is that only one award is given out a year.  This means that in a given year you could have two deserving albums and one by sheer nature HAS to lose.  

Gaga's only year where she had an effort that deserved to win was 2011.  Arcade Fire also deserved to win.

Joanne and ASIB was when the board was still selecting the nominees. LFS’s nom is proof that that comittee affected her. 
 

But those were when she was past her imperial phase so don’t act obtuse. ASIB is the only one that had a genuine chance.

A Star is Born soundtrack and the Love for Sale album was pure Grammy bait and it fits the academy taste more than Jon Batiste's album if that's the case

She just never had the best album of an elegibility year, not everything has a bigger reason behind
