Ava Max - "Die for You"

Featured Replies

She should have kept it for herself, it's perfect. 😢

Pls it sounds like an AI

Yeah...wasn't there an Ariana Grande demo of Normani's "Motivation" floating around that turned out to be an AI creation? This is such an off-putting phenomenon.

When I clicked this thread I thought Ava had covered "Die For You", like she did with "Blinding Lights" a while back (which also got demo memes). This audio sounds weirdly processed, so I'm guessing it's another AI thing.

Not gonna lie, though, Ava's voice would fit beautifully on this song.

pretty cute, though i agree the weeknd did it justice :chick1:

This besides i just checked the credits she is not there and Abel co wrote the song so why would he let her sing the demo 💀

She met Cirkut in 2014, so she sang the writer's demo :cm:

Yep. Cirkut's involvement in the production (not songwriting) is the only thing that could connect the song with Ava Max, but again, not only her voice is weirdly processed and robotic here, and there's been a trend of using AI to create fake demos, but it seems very unlikely Abel would give a composition of his for a then-unknown artist to sing a demo.

As far as we're aware, "Die For You" started off as this peculiar concoction from Cashmere Cat, which was played live during one of his sets in late 2016.

It probably sounds weird because it's a low quality shitty leaked version :rip: why are there mental gymnastics going on in a thread like this. It's just too random to be anything but true :deadbanana:

Do you know that the weeknd writes his entire albums ? :swan:

Writing can be changing a single word in some instances :rip: maybe he wrote it and then it got passed around before he decided to keep it anyway

i don’t think you’re aware of what an AI is able to do

An artist singing a demo doesn't mean they wrote it, it's just that, a demo they recorded

It also doesn't mean the artist that ends up releasing said track didn't write it

Pls not even a single song from his discography was sung by anyone else before him , some ava stans even claim that she did the demo for blinding light when she just covered it , and this is not even a cover you can hear it’s just an ai:giraffe:

OMG I can't wait to see what it's like in a few years. Imagine having new Whitney tracks (or whatever).

This is how we will get the new Sky Ferreira Album!

I would usually agree with you, but as @Burqa showed, AI technology has become increasingly more capable to near-accurately mimic an artist's tone and fake any cover/demo. I was completely unaware of this development until this alleged demo of Ariana Grande singing "Motivation" was revealed to be the creation of an AI.

And this case is pretty realistic on paper, as we know Ariana co-wrote the song and likely recorded a reference demo, so many understandably fell for this 'leak'. This alleged Ava demo seems suspicious based on the timing (less than a day after the "Motivation" one getting a fair share of attention), and could be another random person flexing their skills attempting to fool the internet. Of course, these speculations could be wrong, but I'd rather wait for confirmation from either party - if it does get enough traction to even reach them (would love to see any interaction between these talented birthday twins )

But yeah, artificial intelligence has grown to a lowkey scary extent. Here are a few more examples:
