the hype doesn’t last long for any show, that’s obvious. But so many actors from season 1 got basically a kickstart to their careers. Hyoyeon Jung, Wi Ha Joon, the other girlie from the last episode, the Indian actor etc got worldwide attention and that opened the doors for more opportunities. And the veteran/already well respected actors like the lead actor, the villain, the middle aged woman etc got their profiles boosted in Korea and exposed them to a global audience. 
Hyoyeon and HaJoon obviously were the biggest winners from season 1 I think.
