They were already trainees back in the time KOZ was still independent. Zico wanted to pull an HIGHLIGHT/BEAST who made their own group, but before debut Zico enlisted he had to make the company managed by someone else cause of the law where you can't have business while being in military (instead of giving the company to PopTime or any Block B member he searched a deal with CJ or HYBE).

 

Anyway HIGHLIGHT created Astro2.0 without the members charm.

I didn’t say so but they definitely aren’t behind in the touring department despite no original Japanese releases and promotions there (and Japanese members) which is actually amazing! to say they don’t have presence in the market is quite dumb, isn’t it?
