brainmaniac Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 (edited) Break My Soul really didn’t do that well on radio. Low Year End placements for every format, not one YE Top 20 and it really shouldn’t have been played on Urban or UAC radio in the first place. But I guess all the formats added up to give it a decent amount of points at the time for The Hot 100 Edited December 9, 2022 by brainmaniac

Meanwhile a song that hasn't even surpassed 200 million streams on Spotify after a year is top 10.

Meanwhile a song that hasn't even surpassed 200 million streams on Spotify after a year is top 10. This is a year ends chart. Songs can still get payola'd even if it gets a build up for six weeks and peaks the week of album release when big hits usually peak in it's 3rd or 4th month. Big energy's payola went beyond a 6 week plan. Latto's album was going to need top radio play to mix with stan mass streaming and buying because she doesn't yet have a base. Her label probably thought people would stream it more than they actually did. It's a shame. This list reminds me of how vanilla 2022 was overall. Not a lot of excitement going on with the songs. Hopefully that changes in 2023.
