Could Monster have been TFM's BB #1?

Featured Replies

Bad Romance peaked at #2.

Telephone reached #3.

Alejandro reached top 5.

We all know Monster and Alejandro were battling it out to become a single, if Gaga went ahead with Monster would it have been The Fame Monster's crown jewel at #1?

No Alejandro  is masterpiece !:giraffe:

And it was WW #1 SMASH so we dont care about BB

No.

All three of those songs were bigger than the majority of #1 singles anyway.

This album is so iconic and has no #1 singles. Iconic songs and videos.

with a high budget mv like br it could be smash. i was so shocked when i first heard it on the radio. dance in the dark was so good too

Monster, Dance In The Dark and Speechless all deserved music videos. They would have been events just like BR, Telephone and Alejandro :(

No, but it could've been top 15 i think.

Only the three singles on the OP were #1 Worthy, even though i love Dance in The Dark i don't think it would've been as big as those

maybe top 5 or #3, same with DITD but both should've been singles anyway

It was her peak, anything she'd release would've been a hit. She should've released more singles tbh (Monster included).

During her peak, she only released Telephone & Alejandro, when she should've milked that time for hit singles :skull:

This. We could've lived in a world where DITD is a Top 10 worldwide smash but alas :'(

If TFM had been released in the streaming era, I’m sure it’d have got the folklore/NFR/Lover/thank u, next treatment where loads of the album tracks are known and remembered like they were hits

almost the whole track list is hit single material, but in 2010 it wasn’t worth burning out her hype for Born This Way releasing 5 full radio singles from an EP

Monster and Dance In the Dark would’ve both been huge. Speechless would’ve been a cute moment too

Ot: yes, but she already had three global number 1s from the record so who cares

So BTW is not part of her peak now?

maybe it would’ve had a cute top 20 peak but definitely not #1, even with her hype back then

It would have been a top 5 for sure. By the time Alejandro (which DESERVED to be #1) dropped, Gaga’s reign was already starting to fatigue.

Monster is one of my favorite Gaga tracks of all time, but it definitely wouldn’t have gone #1 at the time

No, Bad Romance was her PEAK. BTW (single) was successful, and the album sold well, but her commercial peak was TFM (BR being the highest point of the peak)

Monster is such a smash, so glad she brought it back for TCB

BTW single was more than successful. It was insane especially when the song came out. One might say she started fading towards the end of 2011 but in the beginning of the year the hype was crazy. That's why I consider that period as part of her peak.

This. We could've had six amazing singles had she continued the era instead of moving on to BTW but it is what it is now

Funny how Alejandro outlasted BR and is the only single from TFM still used by radio (telephone was quickly forgotten).
