What are the ways for a gay couple to have their own child ?

 

I know the surrogacy in USA costs around 150.000$ 

 

Is there a cheaper way ?

Its almost impossible to happen to a gay couple over 40 years old who dont own a 3 bedroom house and one of them is flight attendant ...

Well you can still try and you might get approved, but in the meantime try searching for lesbian couples who also want children so you can exchange and have one give birth for your family and other for their family

Yup this is what I did also. We made 2 kids.

So how did they work? They got pregnant and kept the first for themselves and then the other one got pregnant and had one for you? Like what was the age gap between the kids? Sorry hehehe

Something about surrogacy is just off to me... Good luck to finding biological mother for your own kid though, no judging.

In my case the lesbian couple wanted 2 kids with an 1 year age gap. They told me I am free to be as involved as I want to be which is great because they are the full time parents and I just come around when I want to, more like a fun uncle except the kids are made from my DNA

Even if it's someone close to you, it's very tricky, since the baby's mother will always have the right to keep it anyway. My best friend's cousin tried it with a close friend, but after she had the baby and it lived with the cousin and his husband for a couple of days, the surrogate mother changed her mind and decided she wanted to raise it herself. That would've meant she had to share custody with the cousin, of course, cause he was the donor, but it turned out she had sex with her own bf close to the insemination and it was actually his baby. My friend's cousin and his husband were left with an empty baby room and no rights to even see the baby.

 

I get that the mother's rights are highly protected (in The Netherlands at leasy), but it also means as a gay couple there will always be some uncertainty when using surrogacy. To live with that uncertainty for me would be way too hard

Well you guys are very helpful but i dont want to have children with a lesbian couple or a friend of mine cause you never know how the motherhood will hit the woman and maybe she will decide to keep the baby

It's a bit tricky is there any explanation or connection between the two partners?  Or just random people wanting to surrogate?  I am still confused .

I was actually thinking if there is a cheaper way of using a surrogate ( stranger ) maybe in South America
