Is Fergie overlooked?

Featured Replies

The run she had from 2003-2011 was INSANE.

Not only did she have a massive solo career with a debut album that sold 6M+ worldwide with 5 multi-platinum singles (3 #1 singles, a #2 smash, and top 5 hit), she was the reason BEP went onto global stardom.

The album had so much longevity that it peaked at #2 a year after its release on the Billboard 200 after debuting at #3 and even returned to the top 10 in January 2008 despite being released in September 2006 - that was after the singles had already sold 14M+ downloads combined.

2003-2004 (Elephunk): Where Is The Love? -> Shut Up -> Hey Mama -> Let's Get It Started

2005-2006 (Monkey Business): Don't Phunk With My Heart -> Don't Lie -> My Humps -> Pump It

2006-2008 (The Dutchess): London Bridge -> Fergalicious -> Glamorous -> Big Girls Don't Cry -> Clumsy

2009-2010: Boom Boom Pow -> I Gotta Feeling -> Meet Me Halfway -> Imma Be -> Rock That Body

2010-2011: The Time (Dirty Bit) -> Just Can't Get Enough

Nope. She got out what she put in. Which was a lot at the beginning, and hardly anything after she got married and settled down.

Massively overlooked. Everything she does is fire, Double Dutchess was amazing but ATRL switched on her when it flopped, doesn’t change the fact she’s a legend.

she made some really bad decisions with her career tbh.

she should have swallowed her pride and got back with BEP when they were smashing recently instead of focusing on ruining her career with random appearances/performances. I’d say I feel bad for her, but it’s on her.

She has the voice, the looks, the bops... she needs to get back in the studio and do what she did best: deliver hits

she was on the road to icon status. Literally EVERYONE loved fergie and then she just disappeared once she got married and had a kid and then she flopped and then "embarrassed herself" a few times and that ruined her legacy.

She most definitely does not, she could never sing. She was always one of the Gwen Stefani types who sings like she's a head cheerleader :rip:

Idk what that even means :rip:  but nah. She may be sloppy at times, but Fergie definitely has vocals

LA LOVE deserved to be a bigger hit

but yeah... its her own fault that her career took a nosedive... you have to actually deliver music and not wait a decade between albums :michael:

She should've released a new studio Album in 2010 and smash. Followed by Double Dutchess in 2014/15

She certainly has vocals, not exactly pleasant ones, but yeah she has them :rip:

Maybe she's overlooked as an artist but I feel like most of those songs are remembered. Elephunk singles deserved better H100 peaks though.

She released Like It Ain't Nuttin and her career was forever dead.

she hasn't had a hit for 11 years (with BEP) and hasn't released anything for 5 years so it's hardly shocking

Not the fan fiction! She sounds just like Gwen Stefani & we all know what she sounds like especially solo! :deadbanana4:

the fact that her and Gwen did the same think with their solo careers :noparty:

What are you saying, there's a reason why Gwen had huge success both solo and as the lead singer of No Doubt. GP loves her unique voice.

OT: Absolutely, Fergie is an essential act of this century.

In a way, yes, I mean to this day she's still seen as the face to BEP but her own career takes a backpedal to that. She needs to go in and fully commit to it and she might be able to remind the GP that Fergie is more than just BEP

Educate yourself. Gwen can sing… and so can Fergie. Tension is incredible.

She just didn't do a good job at maintaining visibility or a regular release cycle. A lot of the 2000s girls didn't adapt to the new cadence of the industry in the 2010s.
