You've already met F.O.R.K., the vengeful hacker group that has forced Let's Spoon into its first hosting change in 15 seasons. But as hinted in the OP, another entity has been lurking in the shadows, intending to assist this season's players in making it through a stable and orderly Let's Spoon season. Let's meet them...

 

This season, an anonymous group that calls itself the Keyboard Ninjas Investigating Firewall Emergencies (K.N.I.F.E.) has hidden various advantages throughout the game that should help the players who find them make it farther. At various points throughout the season, a message will be posted in here that will lead you to one of these advantages. But there's a catch - because of F.O.R.K.'s continued presence, K.N.I.F.E. has been forced to hide these advantages behind an intense two-factor security system to ensure that only truly vigilant and committed players can find them.

 

What does this mean? This means that to claim one of these hidden advantages, you will need to complete two steps:

 

1) The Password: Once a message from K.N.I.F.E. is posted in here, a password-protected sub-forum will also appear on this season's live round website. The message will contain an instruction or hint regarding how you find the password. This could be as simple as participating in a challenge, or could be more complicated.

 

2) The Task: Once you enter the correct password, you will find a post from K.N.I.F.E. requiring you to complete a specific task within the game before you can claim the advantage. The difficulty of this task will depend on the value of the advantage - minor advantages will usually come with a fairly easy task to complete, whereas bigger advantages might require you to do something more complex or riskier. Once you've completed the task, PM me with proof of completion and with a copy of the password (to ensure you didn't accidentally do the task out of luck), and - if you were fast enough - you'll receive the advantage.

 

TL;DR - Advantages will be hidden throughout the game, and a message will be posted in this thread whenever a new one has been hidden. Be one of the first to find the password and complete a specific task to claim the advantage.

To give you a sense of how this twist will work (and to reward those who have already signed up), the first message will be posted in this thread tomorrow at 6pm EDT. To clarify, this is a completely optional part of the game... but completing it will be worth your time. I've been told by K.N.I.F.E. that a very small number of advantages will be available for this one, so try to be here quickly after the message is posted to get started!
