Local artists making music in their native language will almost always be more popular than an international artist. That’s not surprising. But there’s a reason why Jay-Z or Kendrick will struggle to get a hit while Taylor or Olivia can release anything and smash… and before you say “they make pop music!” Taylor smashed with Folklore and Olivia’s latest album is much more lyrically focused. Clearly making lyrically-driven music in English is not the problem here.

Jay-Z is one of the biggest rappers of all time and hip hop is one of the most popular genres in the US. What's popular in other countries is not relevant at all. Especially when we all know why hip hop is not as global as other genres...

That was me. You can create a general Halloween boost thread for all songs (like we have every year) but we don't need a singular thread for an 18-year old song charting at #106... that's exactly what the general streaming thread is for. Separate threads are generally for new songs.
