  1. I guess this is about the visual because the album itself wasn't that influential. It's fine but... is anyone really trying to recreate songs from Lemonade? This also makes me wonder how Renaissance (her best album) would be viewed today if she had released the visuals... she really messed up that era.
  2. This is not thread worthy
  3. Suburban sprawl, highway expansion, golf courses, agriculture in the desert, etc are just as damaging to the environment as data centers and there's no outrage for those. And most of the environmental concerns regarding data centers have solutions... so yeah, I don't really buy the environmental argument. If the data centers weren't causing higher electric bills, most people wouldn't care at all.
  4. The problems people have with data centers go away if we just start building more power plants. They probably should be regulated/taxed more but banning them will just end up moving more growth to red states. Democrats should stop pursuing bad policies just because they’re politically popular (see: rent control).
  5. Austin (no rent control, making it easier to build): -5.2% San Francisco (rent control, refuses to build): +16.9% I'm not sure how much more proof left-NIMBYs need before they admit that rent control does not actually make housing affordable. California and New York are about to become irrelevant nationally and there are still people that think a rent freeze will make things better...
  6. The only girlies that won are the ones that are already living in rent-stabilized housing, and even some of them are living in distressed apartments that won't receive any maintenance due to the lack of funding available. The other 1 million+ market-rate renters in the city will most likely be paying more in rent next year, but congrats on winning I guess? I'm not sure we should use a bad policy being popular as proof that it actually works. Trump was able to win by running on bad policies with the promise that he would lower prices and the exact opposite has happened. If you want housing to be cheaper, you need to build more of it. It really is that simple.
  7. No one said it wasn’t possible. It’s just a terrible policy and will lead to rent increases for anyone that’s not lucky enough to have a rent-stabilized apartment.
  8. Building a high speed rail network to compete with airlines on busy corridors would be a much better use of public money. Airlines aren’t even that profitable once you remove their loyalty programs. It’s nice to see more leftist politicians being elected but I really wish they’d move away from the sensationalist comments. There are so many ideas that poll better than whatever she’s proposing.
  9. Interesting titles. I’m assuming Kiss Me will be the next single on release day
  10. I'd just swap out B'Day with Lemonade tbh
  11. Wouldn't be surprised if just Ariana and Taylor are the only women to make the list tbh. Maybe Billie, SZA, and potentially Rhianna. I don't think Apple Music has really grown that much since 2019.
  12. Constant radio play? It literally had a negative update today
  13. They should’ve had all these versions ready to go when the music video dropped on Monday. It’s gonna look terrible if this ends up debuting at #2 after all this.
  14. Cute video but not enough to move the needle unfortunately.
