could nicole have become successful on her own if she was given the pcd material but as a solo artist? or did she need the other members?

I’ll never ever understand how she released such mediocre songs as a solo artist.

It's wild that a good amount of PCD's material was Nicole's material to begin with (or was it only the sophomore album that was mainly Nicole's leftovers?). Whatever. Without the PCD brand to sell it, her solo music just flopped  so yes

She 10000% need “the pussycat dolls”. Those specific girls though, no. could have been any small group of hot dancers

Nicole was always a wild case for me because when you take the PCD Brand away she had weak material but at the same time the PCD brand WAS her material.  

Yes she needed them and they def needed her! PCD is a brand name and has and will always sell more than any of their solo albums. 

Yes, evidenced by the fact that her solo career mostly went nowhere despite being comprised of Rihanna or Rihanna-like (rejects) songs.
 

PCD had strong material, always, but for some reason that couldn’t translate into Scherzinger’s solo work. It’s also very ironic considering she was the lead singer on almost all of their songs too.
 

The image, iconography and overall brand of PCD, with all of the other girls/dancers involved, helped carry their success and Scherzinger shone because of that. As a solo act, she didn’t harbor/possess the same vitality and wasn’t as interesting.

Yes. Nicole by herself is uninteresting outside of being beautiful. Also, the PCD material was far better than her own. People like to make jokes about the other PCD girls being filler, but they were necessary to the brand imo. The burlesque girl group thing with great dancers had never been done before and the entire group was actually very charismatic even without solo parts 

No, she just needed a good manager and A&R for her solo career, plus a little luck. Sadly she's had none of those things. 

 

Nicole is literally the full package as a pop star. Naturally talented, stunning beauty, great dancer and captivating performer. PCD *needed* her, the group would not have existed in the way it did without her. She's a powerhouse. But it was always *possible* for her to exist as a solo artist without PCD. 

 

Her solo just never took off due to combinations of bad timing/luck and bad decisions. A shame.

Bad songs as a solo artist

I'm sure if 'Don't Cha' was the exact same song and video but credited to just Nicole; it still would've been a big hit and then the other songs that followed but major success probably would've ended after the first album. 

Nicole hasn’t been able to come up with a consistent artistic musical Identity and honestly being in the PCD probably caused that. They needed her more than she needed them. 
 

I wish her career had gone differently because she is just so incredibly talented as a singer and a wonderful person to boot. 

I checked out the Pussycat Dolls only because of I was a fan of Nicole from before. 

I watched documentary about her PCD was right move for her. Her solo career didn't take off as much as PCD which sucks because I loved her solo albums. So if she stayed and gave the girls credit we could of got another pcd album but sadly didn't happen

I don't know exactly why her first solo singles flopped (Baby Love and Whatever You Like) because I was too young then but in 2010 when Nicole tried going solo again with Poison and the other singles she was just not standing out from the others. Back then you just had to be very captivating (Rihanna and Katy Perry) or outrageous and intriguing (Gaga). Her songs were fine and catchy but she did not draw much attention. She should have had stronger presence or pulled some gimmick maybe? Just being pretty and sexy was not enough.

she doesnt have it factor aka shes not likeable nor her face screams pop star

 

shes too weird looking, in a sense hard to market. you cant put some image on her, she has very distinctive face (which doesnt mean she looks bad, just isnt marketable)
