Ava Max released the first single for her second album a few months ago. However, the song has failed to make major impact in terms of chart positions.

 

While people argue that the song will become a sleeper hit, ‘Maybe You’re The Problem’ does not show any similar pattern to other sleeper hits that Ava has had in the past (ie. becoming hits in other countries, getting decent airplay, etc.)

 

Why is the song underperforming? Is it too ahead of it’s time, or too reductive? Does Ava Max need to switch it up?

The song is like chimichurri sauce on steak- wrong flavor for really tasty and juicy food. 

 

I don't know who at the label thought this song was any good for a lead single but it's just... there. Nobody moved, nobody cared. 

 

Sweet but Psycho was a hit because it's a throwback and nostalgic catchy pop song. Everything after that besides several songs was just plain boring. I don't think they know how to market her or what type of lane she should house. It's a shame because she's a good singer and live performer. 

The motto was doing so well and then call out scores came out and killed the song

All I know is Maybe You're The Problem is her best song so far

 

Boring, mediocre at best, rehash of trends that are over (blinding lights, dancefloor crying thing), video sucked ass

The Motto overshadowed.

It lacks excitement, it sounds too generic and nothing special. It was a disappointment to me.

Cause the gp doesn't appreciate the bops we like
