Beyoncé set the bar high with Lemonade, one of the most acclaimed albums of the century. With Renaissance on the horizon, do you think she'll be able to top the cross-genre work of genius that is Lemonade with its follow-up? Discuss.

Quality wise most likely, critically maybe too.

 

Commercially it will be super hard, Lemonade was still part of the physical album era which Bey was always one of the best sellers.

We need more to discuss. But the the concept and the first moves feel like a really big Era. That's for sure. 

 

The same with the Grammy discuss, we need listen to it. We all know that she has a good reputation at awards but if we need the Era to start to predict 

It will definitely be high-quality, too early to say how it will compare to her previous work. Hopefully it’s not another visual album. I’m sure no matter what critics/op-ed writers will be acting like it’s the most amazing revolutionary album ever released like with lemonade.

Doubt it will come close to Lemonade’s success or even acclaim but that’s ok

 

She’s 40 and a legend now, she has nothing to prove anymore 

Lemonade? Yes, easily. The question is will it top Self-Titled music-wise and Black Is King visually? 

Commercially it’ll be very hard. She’s in her 40’s and has over 2 decades behind her, and albums are not selling anymore. Even the biggest acts struggle beyond the first week to push units.

 

Quality wise? I think she can/will. IMO, Lemonade was a step down from her self titled album 

I remember thinking (as did many others) that she set the bar too high with BEYONCÉ and that there would be no way she’d ever be able to top it, but then she just came and blew it out the water with Lemonade. So I would never put it past her again. I think there’s every chance she will out-do herself once again.

Lemonade (as a project) is literal art. It’s and experience and statement. It reads like a film - most people don’t watch films over and over in condensed time periods. I see the untraditional promo and sabotage around that album as intentional, especially because the project was so personal. 
 

Renaissance feels like it’s going to be more of a traditional era - and given the description by the VOUGE editor, it’s likely to have more replay value. I could see this being one of her best projects. She’s been improving quality-wise. Black Is King was exceptional from top to bottom. I guess we’ll wait and see, but leave it to Beyoncé outdo herself. Either way, all signs are pointing to this being a pretty big era for her.

She can easily top it, she worked really hard on lemonade butcatchy melodies were missing, something to put on repeat. 

I personally hated lemonade and I think bday is her best album. As long as I get fun upbeat summer album I don't CARE!

Just the prospect of it is insane to think about one thing's for sure, if she manages to even comes close her legend status and legacy will be cemented in unimaginable ways

Lemonade is one of my favorite albums of all time. So I doubt it will for me personally. But I'm sure she's gonna serve quality.

she might try to serve more charts not the arts with the music this time.
