No way.  Triangle > game > complete best > level 3 > plasma > JPN >>>>>>>>>>>> cosmic explorer > future pop

Literally correct! JPN is kinda literally unlistenable in parts but the highs are HIGH at least. I can't believe Fake It was relegated to B-side status until their greatest hits thing :rip:

This is a really consistent, smooth and enjoyable album. Nothing really hits as hard as their early high watermarks but it works as so well as a whole. Idk what Nakata did to Time Warp but something about it just feels much grander now. A return to form indeed :clap3:

I don't take triangle stan opinions seriously tbh. I mean sure it can be a favorite (esp if you live for those 80s synths), but how are you gonna claim that its an objectively good album??? The tracklist is a mess. Take off into LTW and not NF???? And its front loaded af. Nakata put all the harder hitting and catchy tracks up top, so the album just kinda runs out of steam after NF. Does not help that its bunch of album tracks are amongst their weakest pre FP. Kiss and music shorter than even daijobanai, zero gravity mid af and speed of sound is.... Just there. Like, Triangle as an era??? LTW, DF, ORD??? Iconic and flawless. As an album though???? Lots and lots of wasted potential.

Lemme not get into CB.

L3 > Game >> JPN >> CE > Plasma >> Triangle >> CB >> FP

JPN is my fave tho.

Kinda OT but I haven't really listened to them after Future Pop album and I really wanna know. Did they drop something at least similar to 1mm which is definitely my favourite song by them:WAP: I wanna get back into them and check some of their latest stuff out, but I def need to know if there's anything that will give me the same vibe that 1mm did :alexz:

Polygon wave (original mix is superior btw) is probably the closest you'll get in terms of groove...? Nothing's ever topping 1mm tho. :jonny5:

But if you like the Level3 sound and aesthetic, I'd also recommend mugen loop, android&, spinning world, mawaru kagami, and maybe flow + drive'n the rain.

Take Off into LTW is great  :gaycat: It's all pretty close but for me Triangle has a bunch of 11/10s and probably the least filler of any of their albums - I love the back half! If anything the middle stretch is the most filler'd for me because I don't really like Night Flight despite it being one of the biggest fan favourites of their discog, and then Kiss and Music and Zero Gravity exist. I would swap it with Game depending on how I'm feeling but I think that album suffers a lot more from sounding like a collection of singles than Triangle does.

Actually Plasma is kinda their least filler'd album maybe ever now I'm thinking about it  It just doesn't really hit the same highs.

Personally I don't really like Triangle's vibe. I get that its the whole point, but it feels dated and underproduced compared to Nakata's typical wall of sound style. Also ISLU vocoder effect only became tolerable for me in the pcubed edition.... It's really a love it or hate it album and im in the latter camp.

Plasma's intro and hatenabito are filler tho :matty: yeah, plasma is kinda their first album to lack hits. But it's a solid, middle-of-the-road prfm album. And after witnessing what a disaster future flop turned out to be, that's all I really want from them tbh. As long as we get more polygon waves and mugen loops, I'm cool that we're never getting another 1mm or miracle worker.
