I think the singles rollout for HTE was messy for sure but the choices themselves were great. Not really many other tracks on the record that scream single

Alanis Morissette - Under Rug Swept and So-Called Chaos eras. Lead singles were great choices but second singles were a miss.

 

For URS era, she should've went with You Owe Me Nothing in Return as second single. For SCC era, she should've went with This Grudge as second single, Spineless as third and Eight Easy Steps as fourth and final single

WYWF -> Rich Girl -> Hollaback Girl -> Cool -> Luxurious is one of the best singles-run of all time get yo ears checked

theres nothing wrong with those songs. LAMB is the best album of all time. Those single choices SUCK compared to the songs I mentioned ..

only The Real Thing & Crash would've worked as singles, and even then they would've flopped. LAMB singles run is legendary as is

Agreed with both. I think When You’re Gone was a decent follow up to Girlfriend and I even thought Hot was a good choice but something wasn’t clicking.

WYWF was a brilliant lead single imo, and it only underperformed in the US. #1 in Australia, top five in Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Norway, Romania, and the UK. Seems like it did it's job
