This has solidified Cameron Winter as a musical genius in my eyes. While I've loved Heavy Metal since it came out and lauded it as one of my favorite albums ever, and listened to Geese for a couple years now, it's only hit me now, after listening to this live album, that Cameron Winter has something truly special about him. Stripping these songs down to their purest forms, just his voice and piano playing, reveals the beauty and humanity of his music, especially at a time when the world is feeling increasingly cruel and connection between one another is on the decline. Cameron has a certain free-spirited quality to him, his songwriting, his playing, and certainly his voice; something that feels exceedingly rare and reminds me of the legends of contemporary folk, such as Bob Dylan and perhaps Joni Mitchell.
