i once gave a lecture on the topic of astrology during the middle ages/renaissance (for my intro course on history of science), and the students were more into it than any other subject i had covered that semester. only the later lecture on women, magic, and witchcraft was a bigger success. i was pleased however with some of the papers that focused on alchemy at the end of the term.
