I'm not sure about the other varieties of English, but both are used pretty interchangeably in British English. Part of me is tempted to even go so far as to say half, quarter, etc. is more common here, at least from my experience. You're much more likely to specifically hear "half (past) ten" instead of "ten thirty" in day-to-day life, for example. (The "past" is also optional, but only with "half past," you'd obviously never say "quarter three" instead of "quarter past three.")

You could get away with only learning the [hour] [minutes] format, and that is usually the preferred way in formal settings like job interviews to mitigate confusion and misunderstanding. But in everyday speech, you'll inevitably encounter the other, at least in the UK.

here in murica, generally, people go for the simpleton version. it is 1:45, 12:30, etc. only us classy folks from the northeast would use "quarter to two" or "half past midnight," and that is occasionally.

Naturally, you would never hear a dumb trumpette from staten island or anywhere in the south sounding that civilized.

The "of" is so confusing there because it means "till" in that case, so "10 of 7" is 6:50 (but when I hear it, I initially think 7:10). I've only heard select elderly people say that though. I always just say the exact time like the dumb American I am

I'm sick, laying on the couch and watching the Olympics.

Why? Cause I'm too lazy to find something else to watch.

Also as a Canadian it almost feels like I should watch winter sports.

The Canadian broadcast cut out Vance's appearance and then cut into a Super Mario commercial in the middle of the Italian national anthem. deadbanana4

Anyways grabbed two d**ks yesterday. I did pay for a private lap dance since my desire is to have a cute asian on my lap and he was like what's ya sexual desire and I was like you on my lap 😏 but I was respectful because he is a married woman but when his pants came off and he was like your allowed to touch it 🫠🫠🫠🫠 I was lost for words im like you sure 3 times 😂

And then I saw it and oh 😏 I was satisfied and was like to myself man your wife is fuckin lucky. But all day he was hugging me making me feel comfortable so I had to

However when I was just sitting in the private lounge with the boys hanging out they had a few guys I haven't seen one was German and came to Australia 2 days he was drop dead gorgeous however I only talked to them when he had clothes on bc the girls didn't recognize him with them on 🤣 I was like welcome to Australia hehe. But one guy that wasn't him pulled me on stage and had his d in my face in front of an audience 😭😭 everyone cheered bc I was the innocent one. Ffkfkfkfk idk who set me up

But hey I got to touch two dicks yesterday
