By this time in the third generation EXO had already solidified themselves had 2 national hits Growl & Call me Baby and Jessica had left SNSD, Twice had a national hit Cheer Up, Blackpink were smashing from debut and BTS were coming in like a tsunami. Kpop felt like it was changing.
 

But then again bigbang were still thriving with their MADE era & SNSD had 2 hits with Party & Lion Heart. The generational shift came in gradually.

Yes, but that’s completely normal tho. SNSD and BIGBANG era lasted 8 years (2007 - 2015), BP and BTS are currently on their 6th year of huge success (2016 - 2022) and we don’t even know if they will last more than previous gens.

we will never feel it then cuz that will never happen. none of these groups will reach the heights of bts or even bp

bts in 2016 were more popular globally than all these newer groups

almost all 4th gen groups are clearly somewhat influenced by BTS and BP so it would be weird to put them in the same gen even tho no one in 4th gen has reached their level of success

also k-pop started becoming more global from 2018 onwards, groups like itzy, idle etc. just don't feel like they belong in the same gen as BP and BTS. these two groups are still smashing and reaching new peaks due to the globalization of k-pop which is something that 2nd gen groups didn't have. every gen has different standarts

I couldn't imagine it. Or JYP. Those companies would collapse.
