NewJeans is giving Le Sserafim vibes since they both have this elegant and commercial aura and concept. Like people will get them mixed up, since both of them are from the same company, who have 5 members as well with the same vibes. I could definitely see Le Sserafim record this song and having the exact same mv as well. “Attention” is probably a Le Sserafim reject. 

NewJeans has been in the works for longer than LE SSERAFIM, haven’t they? I think it’s just clear that they’re both heavily inspired by 1st Gen. The natural hair colors/looks, trendy 2000s clothes, R&B influences, etc. I could definitely see them being competition with each other, with LS being bigger earlier on but NJ outlasting since the girls are so young and early in their careers (Sakura is already 3 years into her K-pop career).

 

And even though both groups have similar visuals, we may find out that they have different levels of talent soon.

HYBE created ador label for min heejin so she can manage new jeans. New jeans girls were originally hybe trainees and signed to hybe. 

Le Sserafim is really just a platform for Sakura to take advantage of her fanbase sales if you think about it. with the added benefit of showcasing the extremely talented Chaewon.

Yeah, they're a CJENM group (kinda assembled by SMC&C) that Han Sungsoo had to produce as part of his slave/debtors contract.

 

Maybe im the only one but the rollout for newjeans with surprise mv without introducing members and teasers is a big mistake,  its so hard to tell who is who, a clones of hairstyle/haircolor isnt helping either, a video is too westernized, it almost feel like its not a kpop video/song and i think its not going to work,  like lets compare aespa lifes too short with girls,  one felt so forced to imitate west delivery and the other one is giving unique kpop feel... I dont know how to put it in sentences... But i think newjins lacks of that kpop vibes... 

 

I will give them time to shine tho but so far the reaction has been lackluster,  the purpose if teasing each member is to build hype while also introducing them so were curious to see how their dance/ vocak etc... Releasing MV out of nowhere didnt give them a chance to be hyped and people are now really confused and the members are just there...

The song structures are the same but the concept and the vibe are so different tho. This is just one of their 4 mv that coming so maybe we will see something different tomorrow?

their introduction videos is coming out tomorrow and I think their debut song is cookie, which they will release in august. 
 

as a fan, wouldn’t you prefer to get some music first instead of  random photos teasers for several weeks?

They were supposed to debut first before covid hit. They've been in the works for a long time and they did the audition for the girls a while ago. Min heejin was working with source for this before she made her own sublabel because of creative differences I think. 

 

Honestly I feel like lesserafim was kind of a cash grab because they had Sakura and the group would be a sure fire success with her...I mean source would have probably debuted a group eventually but maybe not as soon.

This is how major label kpop used to be because it was the built in multi-level marketing afforded to companies by their company stans that did the heavy lifting.  Everyone got too cute thinking teasers were content.  Kpop's wave wasn't made with a firehose of teasers.  It was taking advantage of their superior production at a lower cost and out working everyone.  It's the Korean way!

I honestly think they are just different labels. Just like how Kakao / LOEN used to own multiple different labels but no one has ever referred SISTAR and A Pink as labelmates for example

 

But these new girlgroups want to take advantage of Big Hit / BTS so they used the name Hybe first and foremost to promote. Like how Le Ssakura was more well-known as BTS's sister group rather than G-Friend's sister group

It definitely DOES NOT have the same autotune & I’m saying this as someone who loves LSRFM. 

I miss the Hong Kong accent.

Honestly I feel like bighit might never get a GG at this point. It kinda is their flagship label so I guess there isn't really going to be a main hybe GG either.
