Slow Motion is Akina Nakamori's debut single. It was written and produced by the sibling duo of Etsuko Kisugi and Takao Kisugi. It was recorded in Los Angeles. After Akina returned to Japan, she wanted to know the kids' opinion on which song should become her debut, so they ran a questionnaire at Akina's middle school. Although T-Shirt Sunset was the winner, and Akina herself wanted Ginga Densetsu to be her debut, the management decided on Slow Motion. Despite the glowing reviews praising the song for being refreshing, it only hit no. 30 on the charts. Slow Motion led to Akina winning a bunch of minor 'Best New Artist' awards, and she went on to win some major ones with Shoujo A.

[C] is Miho Nakayama's debut single. [C] is the short for 'close'. It was written by Takashi Matsumoto. The original producer of the song was supposed to be Tetsuji Hayashi, Momoko Kikuchi's main collaborator, but it was changed to Kyouhei Tsutsumi, who Miho met through Minako Honda. The song was inspired by Miho's debut dorama, 'Maido Osawagaseshimasu', and later used as the theme song for in another Miho-led dorama. Although the song only hit no. 12 on the charts, it did will on the yearly chart and helped Miho win several 'Best New Artist' awards.

 

[C] is the highest debut single in the rate.

certain parts of this song feel a bit weak to me which led to me not rating it higher, but still an enjoyable bop. production-wise, it eats for sure.
