  • this is a random rant but I'm proud of (the majority) of us. Some of these girls on here are so fickle they've abandoned their original favs that are still active and bandwagoned anyone else with subs

Nonsense like you said. Her team saw her being clowned by her partner and the Flopty Beauty news and had to act quick and draw the attention to her "music"

She might be recording here and there but she doesn't have the artistic vision anymore to gather a good body of work imo. The names being mentioned are cracking me tf up too. Koffee (mind you she's being held hostage at her camp since 2018 and not doing anything else worth mentioning) and Martin Garrix? What's next? Anyma? Sis scrap that **** already, don't waste your time. I doubt she even listens to music or knows about the current pop landscape at this point lol. I need one brave interviewer to ask her to name 2 Billie Eilish songs, whose music she claims to love just to pretend she's keeping up with the times😂

The only part of the tweet I disagreed with.

Did she record this? I need to hear it.

It was on earlier tracklists for ANTI. It's rumoured that she did, yes.

I completely agrih. We need new blood on this next album, none of those names spark any interest. A Billie Eilish/Finneas collab would be nice but like u said does she really know their music? 😂 And I just saw a video of her on FT with Jason Lee then Young Miami while she's vibing to that terrible song, that combined with this little "news" about the "album" and her hanging around people from Zeus Network really is just off putting. dancehall2 I'm really starting to think she's losing the plot. Get on the phone with some real WRITERS and stop trying to keep up with the kids!

I wonder when was the last time she listened to an album that's not made by Asap Rocky front to back. I fully believe she lives off of Glorilla singles.

The Jason Lee vlog was cute, even though I don't understand why she's actual best friends with him. But nice to see her engaging with fans.

Her taste is eclectic and she listens (from interviews and song selections) to everyone from James Blake and Billie Eilish to Ayra Starr.

It's so funny to see people surprised at her listening to Spend Dat or watching a Zeus reality show. This is the same woman who was watching Bad Girls Club when it was popular back in tue early 2010s. Like do you people know who you stan? There's nothing new she's done laugh

Well obviously she consumes some kind of music like the rest of the world. But she literally said she doesn't listen to albums and will stream a single or two a couple years back. Which is weird to me considering she's an artist lol. Like are you that disinterested in your field fr…

And I'm doubling down on my theory that she couldn't name 3 Billie Eilish songs lol

I think that's the same with most people, they listen to songs more than they do albums, but she most likely listens to albums as well. And has her favourites as everyone else does.

I will say that some of y'all are getting ahead of yourselves. Might be the disappointment of lack of new music, but Rihanna was watching reality TV while she was releasing annually and she was listening to songs like Spend Dat while she was releasing annually as well. How is this becoming an issue now? And why is it even an issue in the first place? Spend Dat is catchy, and while I wouldn't watch anything on Zeus, most of us have watched some reality TV as well. Out of everything to criticize, why those? deadbanana4

Girl idek what a Spend Dat is, the woman has had a 20+ year long career, released 8 albums, and did not have an answer when asked about her AOTY other than "I'm not rly an album girlie"

We should be complaining about her disassociation from the scene in general as fans. Or is that ok too at this point like yeah I guess lol who cares

Pretty sure Omar was talking about Coffee (the Roc Nation writer who worked with Dua Lipa), not Koffee 😭 Also a lot of the names who work in her album camps never actually end up on the tracklist, like David Guetta/Calvin Harris/Ne-Yo on Anti. So it doesn't really mean anything, and that's not new.

And Omar's interview was definitely recorded before that random article about FB came out. The-Dream isn't part of her team. I doubt she or her team ever cared about that story anyway - unless the brand really is flopping - which is unlikely, since they've just announced its expansion in Douglas stores.

Maybe she just didn't have an album on the spot? The question is why are you so sore about it? Like literally why does it matter that much? We know she listens to albums because she's mentioned Blackout before and she's from an era where people had to buy albums to hear non-singles. Like what's the big deal this is such a non-issue. deadbanana4

Here's the thing, I get the frustration. I really do. But it sounds like some of y'all have gotten so sore about the lack of music that it affects every single thing around her now. Y'all get no news about new music? You're mad. You actually get the most important piece of information about new music from her literal A&R (aka the person whose job is to bring out the new music from its production to release) and you're still mad? The lady steps out to shop for grocery? You're mad. She evades/doesn't say what her favourite album is? You're mad. I don't know, if it was actual criticism around her persona or her process, I'd get it. But y'all are mad over nothing here. Sorry.

I don't think Fenty is flopping big time, if anything just stabilising or plateauing at most. Just wanted to shade ha real quick. Even if it did talking about a non existing album wouldn't boost sales and they wouldn't resort to that imo lol.

I assumed Koffee since she was involved in the original R9, didn't know about the writer. Anyway, hopefully they're not talking just for the sake of it but my expectations are at an all time low ngl

Her saying she's not an album girlie is like the most valid thing to be pressed about sis… It's like the biggest testament to how checked out she is. Wym an artist doesn't have a favourite album off the top of her head. The woman thinks Unapologetic the album is called Diamonds ffs. Like you said, she used to go out and buy albums (like Blackout) and obviously study them. I'm obviously comparing her current state to before and coming to conclusions based on the stark difference.

I did say it was nice to see her out and about and interacting with her fans

Lmao it's definitely the lack of music but I will break down my issues. I'm not really worried about what music we will get, I have faith in her in that aspect it's just the ppl Omar named were mostly ppl she's worked with before. I really want some writers/producers out of left field. As far as the reality tv topic, I'm very aware she loves some good trash tv but nothing on Zeus is as well put together as the Flavor of Loves/BGCs that we used to get. I am a black man in America and I will never stop criticizing shows like Baddies because in my opinion it is doing a lot of damage to my community and the youth in general, especially young women/gay men. Young Miami is just very ignorant 😂 so that's why I'm put off by the things you mentioned. But it truly isn't THAT deep.

Isn't BGC the inspiration to baddies? It was just as bad with those young women fighting each other for people's entertainment. I don't think those shows, or most reality TV shows, are good, but I truly don't see the difference between BGC and Baddies.

As far as the names Omar mentioned goes, he's most likely going to give names the audience is more familiar with. Also Rihanna has always worked with people before they became famous (Ester Dean, James Fauntelroy, Mikky Ekko, Bibi Bourelly, SZA, the list goes on) we don't have the tracklist but I wouldn't be surprised if she's working with names we haven't really known before.

But my main point is that y'all sounded aggrieved (and you are, I get it, I too don't like the long break) but it seemed like y'all were going down a list to be mad about when (as you said) it's not that deep. It's perfectly fine, even good, to give criticisms on Rih. But they should be real criticisms, and not just taking out frustrations on everything about her.

BGC was the inspiration but fundamentally they are different beast. Reality TV can be horrible but older shows had structure and restrictions there were always consequences for fighting. Baddies is a show ran by an antiblack women who gets groups of majority black women to live together solely to drink and fight each other. They hold "auditions" where they are actively incentivising and sometimes directing ppl to fight complete strangers, all for just a chance to be on their show. Meanwhile the casts of these shows are made up of the same individuals every season, its extremely toxic on different level imo. On top of everything I remember Natalie Nunn used to talk so much sh*t about Rih. 😂 Honestly I could go on but if u don't see the stark difference in those types of shows from what I've pointed out we can agree to disagree on that point.
