Work is nothing compared to this song.

 

 

Then again this song also flopped and I couldn't believe it.

By the looks of things R9 won't be anytime soon, but I'd honestly be happy if they released an official remix album with all these mashups. Looks like they were already halfway there anyway with all these rehearsal videos surfacing. Plus I need the Rude Boy remix on Spotify anyway, I hate having to shuffle to Soundcloud

well it wasn't a flop.

 

It's 3xPlatinum and +350M streams.

 

I think it was overshadowed by Work's success and the fact that Needed me took off stealing it's shine.

 

If they would've waited and let Needed Me have its run and then afterwards released KiB it would've done much better.

 

 

Anyway... I would've done ANTI soooooooo differently....

 

Work as a first single was for me the mistake.

 

I would've done LOTB as first single with a killer video and let Needed Me have it's moment organically as it had when ANTI dropped.

 

Then release Work as third single and let it dry until the end of summer with Consideration as a buzz radio only single.

 

And then by the fall release Kiss It Better with a better video and maybe sex with me as a buzz radio single to complement the sex era of the album. lol

Tbh the choreo in that video isn't more complex or demanding than what made the final cut. Rih didn't have to execute every move / do as much as the dancers did anyway. I honestly doubt they changed the show after she found out she was pregnant, especially if she knew about it only a few weeks ahead like she said. If anything the riskiest and most demanding aspect of the show was to perform on those flying platforms, go 60 feet high while pregnant and she still committed to it.

pregnant or not she wouldn't and shouldn't do most of those songs unless you want her to get canceled like Janet, especially Sex With Me  people are ridiculous 

Imagine thinking Work as the lead was a mistake

 

Then again I don't expect people who think Kiss It Better was a smash to have sense. KIB stans have always been delusional about that song. A good song but was never going to be a hit. Quite frankly, even Desperado and Woo had far more hit potential than KIB ever did.

I love KIB and LOTB but how was Work a mistake as a lead? It was a 10 week #1....it did what it was supposed to do as a lead. Also, it came on the back of 3 droplets that somewhat underperformed for Rih's standards. The fact that Work was an instant hit, rather than a grower, helped Anti tremendously imo. 

 

That being said....Work is not a top 5 song on Anti.

Work was a 10 week #1 but it didn't represent ANTI at all, that's why ANTI was not discovered until much later for 90% of the GP.

Let us not please. It's literally one of her best lead singles and one of her best songs in general. Work is a masterpiece!

I agree it's not representative of the album but it's the hit we needed to get the era rolling....I fear she would've been dragged and Anti would've been left for dead (after the 420 fiasco) if Work didn't 'work' with the GP.

 

But yes, Work is not Top 10....still an absolute bop tho!
