Not sure if you are using this as a good or bad example :rip:

It's mixed, really. I have heard a lot of people praise the song for it's beauty, but lament about how it just wasn't what they expected for her musical comeback.

Personally, as a Rihanna stan I always expect the unexpected from her. I don't know how most fans that have followed her wouldn't tbh. While I don't consider this her musical comeback, especially when Believe It.mp3 was released just 2 years ago :deadbanana2:I believe looking at LMU through that lens is exactly what made it that much more underwhelming for some people. Looking at it as if it were R9's lead single, of which we all can admit we had/have insane expectations for, made it feel like a wasted opportunity following ridiculous momentum.

In the midst of all of this nonetheless, the girls seem to really want Dancehall Rih to return. And I know Robyn still keeps her ears to the streets.

  • this is a random rant but I'm proud of (the majority) of us. Some of these girls on here are so fickle they've abandoned their original favs that are still active and bandwagoned anyone else with subs

  • Stanning this woman feels like punishment at this point

guys her video makes me sooooooooo emotional omg    we have grown old together as a fanbase. we were just teenagers & most of us are adults in their late 20'/30's now.

BlackoutZone (insider from Warner) just confirmed that R9 is a myth:

We can now finally lay to rest our hopes that anything is coming besides the Superbowl and those 2 Wakanda songs :monkey:

Super mortifying. So there's really nothing apart from these corny soundtrack songs.

Let me change my avi after almost 6 years. Will always check for Rih's music but I'm so checked out and have disdain for her as a person at this point.

Wow. I really didn’t think she would have scrapped the stuff from 2019 like that. Yikes, it’s truly over. :rip: If she tries to tour without any new music, I am fully done with her ass.

Guys, it's fine, we saw this coming. She said it loud and clear during the Savage interviews. At this point we should not be surprised. I think it's still a solid plan, so I'm not panicking: Superbowl and (hopefully) Oscars during Q1, single in the spring, album during summer.

LOL! I was SURE she has scrapped her old material, the interview she has done for savage spilled it all out !! And when i said it in this thread, people  said i was doing a meltdown…

Listen! The music industry has changed a LOT since 2019 and it would have been dumb of her to release what she has recorded in the past . I am glad she released lift me up to test the waters and have a better visibility of the whole situation. I hope she releases at least the lead single by this summer otherwise it will be really complicated for her to come back strong. She got it, she just needs to play her cards right.

• #R9 is being released around the same time as the Superbowl, either before or very soon after.

• She wouldn’t waste an opportunity like that to not release any music.

• It’s clear that these OST songs were curated specifically for the movie and were also a ploy to usher her into the new era of streaming that she hasn’t lived in, actively, since 2016/2017.

I don’t understand the random meltdowns…

:rip:

I also don’t think she was being completely serious during that SavagexFenty interview either.

Next year could be a massive year for her. We’ll have the Superbowl, Q1 awards season + a new album.

Relax.

She’s #7 among Daily Streaming Artists and “LMU” is rising everywhere.

I don’t think I’ve ever known a fanbase to have less faith in their fave than the navy, even when she was active you all continuously doubted her. She doesn’t have a trustworthy base at all.

The production for Savage X Fenty V4 was truly top notch! I really hope we get that level of excellence for the Super Bowl performance

I don’t think she sees SB as an opportunity for her musical endeavours like other artists do. She’s in another league now and she will release whatever she wants whenever she’s comfortable. Yeah she wouldn’t want to completely flop ofc, even her brands could suffer from that but she doesn’t have to count on SB for anything either. She’s probably really doing SB for the challenge of it as she said herself:rip:

Be serious — it is extremely unlikely we get a new album until the back half of 2023 at the earliest with the information we now have. To think she will put together and release an album before next summer is absolutely ridiculous :rip:

We're getting a summer 2023 banger, sisters. An album isn't coming until No Nut November 2023.

It seem so ridiculous to not capitalize on dropping an album within 6 months after SB.

It is ridiculous, but she’s not doing the SB for her music career though :cm:

Do you actually believe this? :psyduck:

It took her like 10 days go record 2 songs. So 13 songs would gake her about 65 days. Call me when she's in the studio for 2 months!

She can use 4-5 songs of those recorded and record 3-4 singles material in a month.

As a matter of fact... she could very easily have a recording studio in her home and not have to go record to the studio at all but finishing touches ...

In fact we know nothing... so we can only speculate and hope... lol

she is also #5 on monthly listeners with almost 69M

I'm still confident we'll get the album within that timeframe....if no album was coming, I don't think she'd be considering touring at all

Girl did you miss the news from a reliable insider that she has no material for R9 ready?

The lies some of yall tell yourselves as a coping mechanism :rip:

I think the most we will get next year is her being featured on some collab in summer or Q4.
