Nah, music video is completely forgotten and only claimed by fans. It also killed her most important pop era + almost ruined her career forever. Should've stayed as an album track or just a promo single for fans. Didn't it also ruined her radio streak or something? On top of that, it was a BR rehearse and commercial-wise she should have released something less polemic after BTW. Timing was also completely wrong, the lyrics are not even bad or offensive, but releasing it on Easter week was plain stupid.

 

 

TEOG would've been #1 and kept BTW's momentum going.

Stanning for the steady growth but those jeering at the 400k spotify stream increase for IAW with playlist placement may have too high of a expectation for HMH’s playlist effect (if one ever comes)

What you've said might be true but Gaga was the biggest act at the time, so they relied that Judas would succeed despite Easter.

We were talking about how it almost killed her career though, not about how good the video was. If TEOG had the budget and the timing Flopdas got, it would've done wonders for her career.

Yeah, I think they were just naive and tried to ride on the controversy.  Would be great if it was released later in the era as a single!

I loved the Judas controversy and drama. It was a hit to her commercial appeal for a bit, but she also went on to sell 1M+ first week anyway so the damage was somewhat exaggerated.

 

I miss that total screw you attitude to the press and purposefully stirring up drama, that’s what made her so iconic for years.

 

What hamstrung TEOG was the fight she had over the music video.
