I'm sure her team doesn't control when a huge blockbuster gets released lmao. It's okay but let's not blame the team. For SL and L4S...her team can make predictions but they cannot exactly predict what exact week the single would have a better peak. And y'all know Gaga is anti surprise releases so everything is planned according to promo spots, performances, etc, not solely on how high it could peak. Also if SL had been released like three weeks before it would've been around top 3 but it wouldn't have changed anything cause it would still have been a moderate flop

For the budget Top Gun has, 300M would be an underperformance, cause there's barely any COVID restrictions and most people don't care about COVID rn

 

See other examples of "blockbuster" movies in 2021, when there still was restrictions and a lot more fear (not counting superhero movies cause they're a completely different game)

 

No Time To Die 774M ($250M)

Dune 400M ($175M)

A Quiet Place 280M ($60M)

 

And these numbers happened during a time where there were restrictions in many countries and those who didn't still had people scared of COVID. Nowadays a really small percentage of the population is worried about COVID to the point to not going to the movies to not catch it lol. Probably only +65 people and people who were hypochondriacs even before the pandemic, so 300M would be a big dissapointment but enough to make Hold My Hand a hit if it clicks! Also Top Gun is a movie that might be able to get a huge conservative crowd  who have never cared about COVID and they definitely don't now, so $300M would be an underperformance, obviously.

I think there was a week where points were so low (it's always in the beginning of the year) that SL could've been #2. Idk about #1 cause I don't remember clearly but I think there was a big hit around that time
