Gaga was cute, I hate the fact that she performed in the full daylight next to a river at the very start of the show. Would have preferd if she even was on that floating piano on fire instead but okayyy

I know it wasn't her most spectacular performance but you could tell how excited she was to be doing it. She was giddy af lol

She sounded great and looked great. It's a shame that the production value was very C-lister. 

At this stage of her career, Celine winning the night is a great reminder of what an absolute legend she is, especially given her recent luck with stiff persons syndrome post the death of the man she truly loved. It was an honor for Gaga to open the show and the pure joy on her the face throughout the performance was a good indicator of how happy she was to be there, doing what she loves. Wins all around.

i liked gaga's performance way more than celine's lol. i agree it would've looked better during nighttime

I think my main "issue" with Gaga's was just the camera work and the dancers. The dancers were so chaotic and not in-sync.  

 

But again, not really something Gaga had control over of. She did great anyway and looked absolutely gorgeous / her voice was stellar.

Of all the current MPGs, the one most likely to be the Celine (and Cher, and Madonna etc) of her generation is Gaga. I have no doubts about that.

Honestly rewatching the performance and it's so much fun without the pressure of watching it the first time and wondering what will happen. It was inevitable that Celine would rule the night (literally belting out a ballad on the eiffel tower) but Gaga did great and got major positive attention as well.

I'm legit so happy. My fave delivered a tremendous performance and it was an excellent holdover until Joker. Joker promo has also kicked off so more exciting things are coming. What a good time to be a Liddo.

Celine should've been at the top. A flop performance. Standing below it is lame.

It's so nice to see her give us a more fun side as well.

I know liddos are over the song, but honestly I'd have preferred if she sang La Vie En Rose over the song she sang people always lose it when she showcases her vocals

She did fantastic, I don't think she could have done a better job tbh.  The budget was clearly not there, but it was such a fun and surprising way to open the ceremony.
