The rumors of singing Mon Truc have to be true. There's a lyric in the song that mentions "Pierrots". It's kind of like a jester or "dunce" and similarly "harlequin"….

Not only is it campy and over-the-top but there aren't too many words either so we don't have to worry about her butchering the pronunciation. This is like the perfect choice for her as a non-native performer to open the games on the most joyful note while showcasing French culture and history to the world. She'll knock it out of the park!

Ok if the rumours are true I'm actually very excited for this performance it has the potential to be so camp and theatrical. The song choice is fun and not the usual jazz song she performs, it's giving cabaret and kinda unlike anything she's done before. Plus we haven't gotten a real choreographed televised performance from her in what feels like a decade I'm ready!

Not being like, "she won't be doing choreo or anything" only for her to seemingly have an entire fancy performance lined up. Love being wrong about and surprised by Gaga!

You guys should watch celines documentary if you haven't already, it was so sad, i cried about 3 times. You never know what is going on behind the scenes with big stars. we should honestly keep that in mind next time we feel like dragging gaga, i think i am now a kindness punk

Yeah, that all makes sense... I just can't wrap my head around this being used for new music hype unless the new music is jazz related.

Hear me out. The Empire article today described how Gaga's interpretation of Harley Quinn is akin to a Manson girl. See quote:

The only snippet that has ever been tagged / removed by copyright is "Garden of Eden" which is the "I could be your girlfriend for the weekend" one. What if the song is a POV from that Manson girl? It would be a really unique way to connect the LG7 and JFAD universes without getting too intertwined. I mean, if Gaga is gaining all this experience from playing certain characters, why shouldn't she be able to apply that to her musical output? None of her peers have that experience in their toolkit, she should capitalize on it. 
 

Imagine if she pulls a Beyoncé and announces LG7 as soon as she leaves the Olympic stage. It wouldn't even have to be an imminent release, have the lead single in 1-2 weeks and then drop the album in late October. We'd all collectively stroke out. 

 

I need her to realize that she's LADY ******* GAGA and can pull of that kind of announcement and still have a successful release (so long as the material is there). I fear her team lacks the chutzpah to ever try that tho so I'm not holding my breath. Hoping the HAUS of HAG can prove me wrong. Very hyped for her Olympics performance regardless.
