Yes, but now it makes sense why she turned it down. After the countess and HOG, she probably didn't want to play another evil role because it could raise her chances of being typecast into those types of roles afterwards. She really needs to do that rom com next to show a softer side.

Yes, I’m glad it didn’t work out/she turned it down. I don’t think anything substantively exciting will occur with the character.

The fact that a role denied by Gaga is now being played by THE Charlize Theron. Her power and level of respect is insane. 

@AbeHicks I also don’t think the GP cares/remembers The Countess to that point. But I agree playing back to back vilain-ish roles is not a good path.

Clea is not a villain though and I don’t think there is any major comic book arc where she is one   She’s basically a Dr. Strange 2.0 who is his lover/eventual wife.

Casting decisions are made by industry people who pay more attention to these things so it does count imo

Edith Head holds the record for most Oscars for a woman with 8 wins  All in the Costume Design category, although she was helped by the fact that the category used to be split into B&W and color movies and she would get into both.

Gaga fits DC much more than Marvel. Marvel is sanitized, watered down, visually ugly. Suits Harry Styles much better. Whereas DC is ambitious, edgy, provocative.
