Martin Kierszenbaum (Cherry Cherry Boom Boom) mentioned their very first conversation when they met was over shared love of Prince - so all the Prince-inspo-related-evidence lately notwithstanding, Gaga's probably been a student of his career for as long as Bowie, Madonna, Springsteen, etc. Just a little pet theory/ food for thought...in light of Gaga's Batman adjacent film coming out later this year. I didn't give it much thought at first but all the purple lighting in her pics, the horn player mentioning Prince with his pic in the studio, her "sexy never left" comment, and the vampire bat gummies she posted are making me a bit delulu. LG7 being a synth-rock-pop opus called xoxo, Lee! with this being her signature look for the era could eat so hard On the other hand, I feel like she wants to keep her Pop career as separate as possible from her acting one though, so I'd rather the next album gets its proper era after the awards season is over.
