I doubt the UMG ban is ending any time soon so it is pointless to care. UMG thinks they are in a position of power so they will wait for TikTok to cave, which I do not think they will do.

her album? she can claim the #1 for debut week after like 4-5 weeks of Taylor

obvs #1s are important, especially since all but 1 of her studio albums are #1s, but I'd rather them focus on longevity this era for the album and singles. I'd rather have a #2 debut and a residency in the top 10 for a while, rather than dropping out quickly....

To be fair, that's bound to happen when most of her recent collaborators appear to have been plucked from a local AARP meeting 

 

But she absolutely could smash with the right material. Hell, she sent a country-rock ballad with an unusual structure to #1 based on an Oscar performance. If the material's strong, she'll be fine.
