In the past decade she's done 3 full length albums, two jazz projects, embarked on 4 world tours, filmed and promoted two feature length films, did a season of AHS, did two fully realized Vegas residencies, co-chaired high fashion events, etc. Compare her to literally any of her peers except Taylor and she's done on par or more content wise than them. I get the desire for music especially because people have the attention span of a chihuahua nowadays but using revisionist history and pretending Gaga hasn't put work in for years is really stupid. There's plenty of other artists to stan if certain users are losing this much sleep over Gar. There's notable criticisms for stans like under-promotion of albums, not releasing tour specials, mismanagement, etc, but that isn't always fully in her control. Users here saying she puts zero work into her career undermines her work ethic and its really tired to be making these same arguments over and over again because stans want her to be like a 20 year old pop girl. She's almost 40 years old and has nothing to prove.

I also just think most fans don’t take into account broader trends in the industry at all. Pop eras aren’t what they used to be. Look at Renaissance and Midnights compared to Lemonade and 1989 for instance. Artists just can’t promote an album for two years really anymore, the finances don’t make sense. I also think people have this idea that if Gaga has “passion” or does “more promo” that this will automatically mean the music smashes, when that could not be the case.

Content wise Gaga is on her peers level (quantity talking). But pop-music wise or non-jazz music wise i feel like her discography is not as much.

 

I know Gaga is all about quality over quantity, and that she's not about quick lil singles or meaningless features but i feel like the lack of them is what makes it seems as if she's not releasing as much as her peers.

 

Maybe it's not on brand for her, but i thought The Cure was a cute moment...

Nope. All the rumors that she was gonna release new music later this year or early 2024 turned out to be untrue. At this point it’s pretty clear she’s not releasing until after Joker, most likely 2026.

Cute droplet singles would be nice. Gaga doesn't make her music specifically to fuel streaming charts and having less music = less streams, which is why #those fanbases are always at our necks.
