I'm so confused at people constantly bringing up Margot against Gaga when talking about Harley Quinn, like there hasn't been multiple people play Batman and the Joker.

The amount of serotonin this woman gives me is unmatched

 

+ the fact that Gaga is playing Harleen not Harley. There is a massive difference there  

I sent the picture Todd posted to my friends and they were all like "wow, how did they shoot that movie in 2 weeks?" So many people are thinking they started with the outside shots 2 weeks ago

Yes, because this is probably the most interesting thing about the character. How she goes from Harleen to Harley. 

 

However, it's very obvious we'll see a full on Harley in Act III. In the first film, Arthur Fleck was front and center up until the last act, I imagine this will in some way mirror that.

I think because it's a relatively new character on screen, I honestly don't know if there was someone playing Harley on movie/tv before Margot. But there have been 20 different actors playing Batman or Superman on movie/tv screens, so it's kind of acceptable for those characters to be constantly reinvented. Even the Joker is a new character and every actor since Jack Nicholson has been criticized when their casting was announced.

Her performance as Harley is still recent + it's mostly people who just say whatever without knowing what they're talking about considering their characters are from different universes. These chronically online "Margot stans" should maybe focus on showing up to cinemas to watch her movies instead of just tweeting. And I say this as someone who really likes Margod

 

Most if not all of the new actors for these kind of roles were criticized at first. Heath Ledger was dragged back then and ended up delivering the greatest and most iconic performance, people were skeptical about Joaquin's portrayal of Joker after him and then ended up loving it, same thing for all Batmans, etc. Margot definitely popularized Harley Quinn in the last decade (the blue/pink pigtials, daddy's lil monster shirt, her voice, etc) and her performance was amazing despite the horrible writing in the movies, but it was about time that we see another portrayal from a different angle. She herself agrees dd.
