I feel like ARTPOP will be the closest she will get from Björk. A shame. It was a solid experimental album, too commercial for Björk's taste, but still, experimental. This fad has the raw talent, but this thing she has to prove herself to the general public ruins it for her. She doesn't need a hold my hand Celine'd ballad, she needs a Sophie track to shock people and be edgy again. Babylon makes me think she has in her but she's a shameless Hollywood sold out.

Her career will have more longevity if the gp thinks she is older and mature. Sex eras lead to the kind of backlash Madonna constantly receives. Madonna should be as respected as Elton is but people hate her for trying to be sexy. Gaga should emulate Barbra over Madonna. Serve us great song writing and vocals instead of sex

Madonna is a glabal legend, Barbra a local FAD

Will this sold out do interviews? I can't wait for the kind of bs she's going to say about the movie or track.

I think Sarah Nicole Tanno deserves a raise as a full time Haus Labs manager and creative director that keeps her at the office 24/7.

It's nice to see she is still that quirky fun girl from New York downtown scene deep down, having kii kiis with the gays all day long

We luv u mother monster

ARTPOP was never an experimental album y'all STILL trying making it out to be, It's just an album full of dated 2011-2012 edm cheap beats and hideous lyricism.

Honestly I think she was built to write massive choruses so becoming a Cher/Celine Dion campy power ballad chanteuse suits her better than becoming Bjork. ARTPOP had its moments but she's just not that kind of girl. The best part of that album was the chorus of "Applause", aka a loud, brash, massive pop melody. If she wanted to be Bjork she would need much better collaborators than DJ White Shitshow, MADeon and Zzzzzzzedd but at that point it would stop sounding like Gaga. Her signature as a writer is the huge chorus with the repetitive vowels.

Also, Gaga influenced SOPHIE in the first place with the loud, chainsaw synth madness of "Bad Romance" production, so....

The Witch

This reminds of when Barbra performed "Woman in Love" at a concert in Israel for the first time in like 40 years and the audience barely moved, and she was visibly pissed nnnnnnnn

In all seriousness The Fame Monster and Born This Way are really exceptional, a weak spot or two aside, and stand up to the best of Madonna IMO. There's a lot of cultural significance that adds to them but they're real works of art. And Born This Way aside, she low key bests Madonna when she tries to copy her which is maybe why she was mad in the first place. Like, Alejandro > La Isla Bonita. Yes I said it. Gaga's more subtle, darker lyrics give the typical white girl fantasia of a Spanish lover an extra dimension. And the breakdown in Dance in the Dark is better than the one in Vogue. Diana you're still in our hearts, never let you fall apart, together we'll dance in the dark is still a gut punch. Gaga might just do raw emotion a bit better, both as a songwriter and singer. Even in Madonna's most emotional songs like Live to Tell, there's still this steeliness that she exudes. Gaga lets you all the way in.

Me and 2/3 of this base did not sign up for soccer mom power ballad, we signed up to the underground eastern european electronic sound.

Beautifully said. Don't know why we're wasting emotional energy in this Celine'd ballad. Maybe deep down she loves being liked by the GeePee so she keep doing the boring stuff. I've heard the snippet and I can honestly say that I have no desire in having this song.

The Fame Monster is so nicely polished, truly a work of artistry. Born This Way is way more chaotic but still adds to it. Chromatica had everything to be in the neighborhood of she used to be but she watered down the 90s house sound and it breaks my heart. ARTPOP is solid but the controversy killed it.
