I have to agree. I throughly enjoyed Chromatica and Rain on Me was such a bop, but we have had

dance pop all throughout her career. I would love an 80’s ballad album. She has it in her to produce Celine Dion type of material. 

imagine if the song starts off slow and then these drums are what kick the song off for the first chorus

Same. I think she knows if she goes full AC for a studio album too soon post-ASIB she'd end up boxed-in artistically. She'll be able to snatch smash ballads for quite awhile, no reason to blow her load now instead of pacing them throughout the rest of her career or pulling out an AC album when she seriously needs a smash.
