The way some of you guys are completely clueless about her eras/promotion/singles

 

Please tell me you weren't a stan during ARTPOP or Joanne eras? Cuz that would explain you saying "She released only 2/3  singles, that was a big mistake"

 

Are you forgetting all the DWUW controversy? How much mentally she suffered during those months? She managed to collect herself and delivered us a great video for G.U.Y. and everyone paid it DUST. So why the hell would she even bother with a 4th single?

 

And as for Joanne, the gurl TRIED several times. She ******* released JW music video during the Superbowl week and was paid DUST again. Not to mention the Joanne Piano version being another attempt to give a push to the era. 

 

And then we get to Chromatica, post ROM and album's release week the world was a MESS. The BLM movement, COVID.....she couldn't promote properly and other things were priority for her, understandably. Once the situation was better, she released 911, another amazing video, and was paid DUST. Why would she bother with radio release if the song didn't MOVE on iTunes/streaming charts at all?

Exactly!! These fans live in la la land if they think pushing 6 singles nowadays is a smart strategy. 

The signs of it not clicking with the GP have been there for a long time so who's surprised

On the topic of more singles, post album singles are becoming increasingly less common. 

 

Music is more democratized than ever and with Youtube dying a slow death and western artists music videos not making as much noise anymore and the increasing power of socmed platforms like tiktok/IG reels to make any album track can go viral overnight, it's clear traditional promo like performances and single cycles are slowly becoming a thing of the past. Singles can keep the fans fed sure, but fans can only carry an era for so long. 

 

She just needs to focus on making cohesive albums, full bodies of work with a strong creative vision that stand the test of time and success will automatically follow. More importantly, she desperately needs either a whole new revamped team or some new blood in her existing team. People that understand how the current music landscape works and modern promotional methods to reach new audiences. But they think plastering posters, putting up billboards, doing wall graffiti with spraycans are an effective strategy so.

 

 

She also needs to find a way to strengthen her appeal within US since it's one of her weakest music markets. I honestly don't know what they can do to fix this. Her strained relationship with radio for years now also doesn't help.

 

Let's hope they utilize post-JFAD hype to their advantage (if LG7 is indeed coming 2025) by not waiting too long after to start the era and not choosing a lead that kills the hype for the era instantly instead of generating it.

She keeps watering herself down for American radio and they keep shipping her back. Drop The US for good and focus on smashing globally.

they never caught the right timing to give the right push.... chromatica was bound to be a short-lived era.... at least she pushed out a remix album, extended the tour and committed to it...

We have to be objective about her place in pop and her commercial output, as well as let go of the old ideas of promoting that she mastered a decade ago. I think as well her pivot to older people made her lose younger ones, they played to  her digital era strength she carved out 2011-2013 this will effect her on streaming, and why Ariana/BP were on Chromatica

Promotion alone isn’t a good excuse when the album debuted with 48m streams, and now it’s doing smile numbers. But at the end of the day I still see the era as a success, everyone knew that going from ASIB to Dance-pop was gonna be a drop. I appreciate this album a lot and her doing it regardless, I just hope LG7 can break the ceiling that AP/J/C reached 1.5m US <5m CSPS WW

Promotion just doesn’t do what it used to. Especially for established acts like Gaga. A song will either connect, or it won’t. Gaga needs to start picking lead singles more carefully. Stupid Love and Perfect Illusion kind of limited the eras before they’d even began. 

What happened to Gaga’s relationship with radio? It’s a huge problem that this fandom dances around and acts like isn’t an issue.

I wish she would stop trying to chase the charts when she has nothing left to prove in that regard and the GP isn't here for it anyway.

ATRL really thinks something smashing changes the inherent quality of something. It doesn’t. ROM is a solid pop bop, but it’s barely in Gaga’s Top 30 songs overall. 

Imo Rihannas new song is an immediate attack on HMH and I’d bet that they only finalised this in July/August. It’s similar lyrics and then almost combats where HMH was weak: Heavily pushed on Friday release, alluring intro vs HMH sheep intro, soft vocals, catchy, released during the ballad season of fall/winter vs. HMH June release  .

I’m so sick of seeing people not named Stefani Germanotta succeed. Not even gonna lie. That BP2 song and the Midnights album aren’t deserving.

If nothing else from the Chromatica era, ROM holds up with her other dance releases PF/JD/BR better than the BTW song for me. It’s a little lyrically basic and her vocals a bit harsh, as well as I’d prefer a longer intro and more Ariana vocals at then end (the Dolby atmos version features this) but it’s definitely not outside her top 30 bestie
