The Academy has became too much high-brow these days aside from certain exceptions and that has a price also in terms of audience, you can't have it all. It's funny that the person who wrote that article was the first to made a smear campaign against 'House of Gucci' and Gaga last year for the whole season when was one of the few movies that people actually went to watch at the cinema but now she's writing an article that the Oscars need stars, when they're gonna fire that person from Indiewire it will always be too late. Last year they had the big celebrity moment with the Will Smith drama, it just obscured the whole ceremony, nobody even remembers who won.
