Interesting. I think the link you shared where it shows 63 weeks is misleading and also explains the discrepancy. It says it covers "Official Global charts data from Dec. 20, 2019 to Nov. 13, 2025." However, the Billboard Global 200 didn't launch until September 2020, so I'm guessing they just calculated where the songs would have charted for the months of December 2019 - September 2020 and added that data to everything Billboard published upon the chart's launch — however, who knows if the formula they used is 100% the same as Billboard's and if the results would be exactly the same. (I'm sure they're close, but still.)

 

Because of that, I'm thinking 59 weeks was the actual record for the official Global 200 charts, which is ultimately what matters.

 

That 65 weeks claim from the second link tho...no idea what's going on there. I'm guessing either that or 63 weeks is a typo, who knows which one though. 🤷‍♂️

Well yes, but since DWAS is one of the biggest songs of all time, we don't really need to make it look any bigger. We should save that for a project that actually needs it.

Gotcha. So I'm taking this to mean that DWAS is technically the biggest song on the BB Global 200 by total inverse chart points since a good chunk of BL's chart run predates the Global 200?

I'm guessing yes? I'm not the best when it comes to BB's point system though if I'm being honest. 😅

 

That does raise the point though, I wonder if/when BB will do an all-time Global 200 chart like they have for the Hot 100.

An all-time Global 200 would be pretty cool. I was thinking that they'd do a decade-end chart like they do with the Hot 100, but the chart not spanning across the whole decade might prevent that idk. DWAS would be a top contender on either one (though Golden and Boredinary would be competition I'm sure).

A Liddo on another forum is in the TOTC Discord and asked about this. They were told that they used the Spotify Global chart for all the weeks in 2020 that predate the Billboard Global 200.

Oh, then its reliability is even more in question imo. It's a good guide for how things probably would have charted, but definitely nothing to take as seriously as the actual charts in terms of these records. So DWAS definitely already has the record.
